Unscrambling a word is not the same as unscrambling letters
Scrambled aetch has one answer: cheat. That is an exact anagram, and it uses every letter. A random rack like abcfaadt has no single answer, so the unscrambler lists every word the tiles can build, such as fact, tab and cab.
UnscrambleIt handles both. It flags exact anagrams at the top, then lists shorter words below. If you only want full-rack answers, jump to the anagram solver. For a daily clue with a known answer length, try the word descrambler.

How UnscrambleIt processes letter jumbles
When you enter the letters, the engine checks them against a pre-indexed word database instead of guessing. It runs a precise matching process in milliseconds, even on a full 12-letter rack.
Your dictionary choice is saved for next time. Use Starts With, Ends With, Contains or Length to cut a long list down to the words your board can take.
Tip: filters shine for words longer than 5 letters or when you use a blank tile.
Letter counts are compared with every indexed word, so non-matches drop out at once. A rack with two E's only returns words that need two or fewer.
A ? tries all 26 letters in that slot and marks the blank, so you know which tile scores zero. Use “Must include” to pin a letter on the board.
Sort by length to spot bingos, or by score for your game. Words not in your chosen dictionary never appear.
